Based in Henderson, NV, Richard Perkins has driven operations as the chief executive officer of the Business Council of Canada and Nevada since founding the company in 2016. In addition to managing all business functions, Richard Perkins is responsible for recruiting, promoting bilateral trade and foreign direct investment, partnering with both the Canadian Consulate and the Governor’s Office on Economic Development. He has maintained several strategic relationships while leading the company, resulting in increased tourism and an enhanced presence of Canadian businesses throughout Nevada.

Since 2008, Richard Perkins has served as the president and chief executive officer of The Perkins Company, also in Henderson, NV. His duties in this role range from budgeting and business development to mentoring elected officials on matters of public policy. In the past, he has held community service positions, including serving as Speaker of the Assembly in the Nevada Legislature and as chief of the Henderson Police Department.

Richard Perkins earned degrees in political science and criminal justice from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He remains connected to the school as a member of the Nevada State University Foundation board.
